Leaving Our Nets

Matthew 4: 18-20 - As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him.

It's true. We are leaving our nets - Jay's work...
and our nest - selling our home... to spend a year in Haiti with our children. We will be working under Nehemiah Vision Ministries. Please read more about this wonderful ministry on the NVM website.

What Will We Be Doing in Haiti?

Since the earthquake, Nehemiah Vision Ministries has been blessed with many partnerships and the number of funded projects has increased greatly. In addition, there have been mission teams coming to Chambrun every week since the earthquake. Along wiith such a huge increase in activity comes a huge increase in managerial needs.

Jay will be functioning as Operations Manager for the next year. His role will include:

  • Handling the details surrounding the containers of supplies that are shipped in.
  • Overseeing the Agriculture Project.
  • Training Haitian Nationals to take over management roles.
Amy's focus over the next year will include homeschooling our children and also coordinating a Christian abstinence/health program at NVM and surrounding schools. Creating Positive Relationships
